GALGAMÁCSA
Galgamácsa is a typical settlement of Galga valley situated 40 kilometers from Budapest.
The folk tradition keeping village, which has become country-wide known by the work of Vankóné Dudás Juli
naive painter, lies between the soft embraces of foot of Cserhát and the hills of Gödöllő. In the memory
house named after her you can get to know next to peasant life style and her farming material souvenirs her
paintings as well.
Last Sunday of each year the fire-jumping day of King St. Stephen is arranged in memory house’s court yard.
The Roman Catholic Church of the village was built in Middle Ages however the present church has been built
in the beginning of the nine-hundreds.
The settlement may take pride in some hundred years hunting traditions as well. The hunting possibility is
provided all year. The lucky hunters may meet ornamented deers.
